Happy Sunday

Here is a photo of how I styled my hair today. It's a little bit difficult to see the length due to the fact that I have on a black shirt. (Lol brilliant idea right?) I simply combed it out of a wrap with a side part. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

The Curls Are Back!

A little blurry...sorry!
My curls are back. Temporarily. For the past month, my hair has been straight due to flat ironing every two weeks and I enjoy a break from my curls every now and then. Recently, I oiled my scalp with olive oil to relieve itchy, dry scalp and my hair was so oily that I had no idea what to do with it.

My solution:
1.   Wet my hair with water
2.   Applied a mix of Eco Styler gel and Shea Moisture Curl             Enhancing Smoothie to my edges
3.   Brushed in the product with my Tangle Teezer
4.   Pulled back hair with a piece of stocking

This style is so easy and takes all of 5-6 minutes to achieve! I've missed my curls. This puff is my favorite go to style!

My Thoughts: I purchased this product about a month ago.and have used it on my hair before blow drying. When I put this product on my hair while its wet, it does feel a tad bit drying (Like protein). However, after blow drying, my hair feels soft and fluffy. Since using this balm, my flat iron results have been sleek, soft, and 85% frizz free. Where I live in the south, frizz happens to the tamest of manes but after wrapping at night, the frizz is virtually gone.  I'm in love with this product for when I want a straight style. Absolutely no reversion and my hair stays straight until my next wash. My hair feels light weight and flows in the wind like on a Bay Watch episode. It's on the pricey side but a little goes a long way and saves product.

Other Advantages:
  • Very convenient pump top
  • Non Oily
  • Smells nice
  • One pump is all it takes to get the job done
  • Does what it says it does
  • No heavy residue

Keep It OR Toss It: Keeping it and hope it doesn't get discontinued!

Technique: How I Flat Iron My Natural Hair

This step is a must if I'm trying to get really sleek hair. My pre poo, this time, consisted of coconut oil, honey, olive oil, Giovanni's deeper moisture conditioner, and a cayenne pepper conditioner all mixed in a green container. I apply my pre poo by smoothing the mixture onto my hair in a downward motion from root to tip. I put this mixture on dry hair and I cover my hair with a plastic cap for about 2-3 hours without heat. (Check out my pre-poo post HERE)

Shampoo & Condition

Next, I shampoo and deep condition in the shower. I leave in the deep conditioner for about 10-15 minutes under a plastic cap, then rinse. I use the I'ts a 10 product line at this current time and I also love the Moroccan Argan Creme Shampoo. Click "HERE" for products.

Blow Dry

I dry my hair in a T-Shirt for about 10 minutes, add It's a 10 leave in conditioner along with the It's a 10 smoothing balm. Next, I blow dry my hair using the Yellow Bird blow dryer by conair and tie my edges with a silk scarf.

Flat Iron

Lastly, I flat iron my hair with the KQC flat iron using a chasing comb. I normally flat iron between 370-410 degrees. HOT!! I wrap my hair at night and that's about it.

Technique: My Pre Poo Treatment

- Cococut Oil
- Olive Oil
- Honey
- Conditioner

I mix my concoction in a small container until smooth. I apply my pre poo with my hands as if I was getting a relaxer by smoothing the mixture onto my hair in a downward motion from root to tip. I put this mixture on dry hair and my curls revert in a matter of minutes. I cover my hair with a plastic cap for about 2-3 hours without heat then rinse. (15-20 minutes if I do use heat but the results are the same)

This process is very moisturizing. My hair is immediately softened after I apply this mixture. Also, it helps prevent shampoo from completely stripping the hair. This mixture infuses moisture and I notice a positive difference in my hair texture, flat iron results, and overall softness.
