Where Have I Been?

7.23.2015
Hi! Remember me? (Laughs)

I know that my last post on my blog was in JANUARY and I haven't been seen much since then.  For starters, from January to May, I was facing my final semester in my undergraduate studies and it was challenging. I stopped blogging and sleeping in order to achieve my goal of graduating from college.  I succeeded! Yayyyy! However, between my job and moving to another city this summer with my husband, I still couldn't find the time for my blog or my hair for that matter.

Fortunately, I received a friendly reminder from my dry hair and from my domain provider. I renewed my domain name and decided to dedicate more time to blogging. Therefor I am officially back and I'm going to be more consistent with my posts.

Also, you may have noticed some of my posts have been either altered or totally removed and that is because some of my images were from other sites (photos I did not create or legally owned). Even though I mentioned the source, I did not want to violate copyright laws, so I removed a few posts.

Also, let me know of any posts that you would like to see.

Have a happy hair day...Check out my last two recent posts HERE and HERE

Product Review: Hair Flair Deluxe Softhood Hair Dryer Attachment

7.17.2015
Purchased At: Sally Beauty

Price: $19.99

Details: This product attaches directly to a handheld hair dryer for drying convenience.  It's great for deep conditioning and styling. The large hair bonnet was designed to fit over Curlformers
.

Directions: Cover hair with bonnet. Tighten drawstring straps and fasten chin strap to keep the bonnet in place. Attach elastic tube to hair dryer. Turn hair dryer on low heat
and blow dry until hair is no longer wet. (20-30 minutes depending on hair length)

Ingredients: N/A

My Thoughts: Overall I like this hair dryer attachment. I really like it because it has a large hood that fits over my "big hair" when I am deep conditioning. I also appreciate the fact that this dryer attachment has a drawstring and chin strap. I don't have to worry about it moving out of place or coming off. In my experience with it so far, I think it works great for deep conditioning and for my twist outs. Other than that, I haven't tried it for anything else. I use to attach my shower cap to my blow dryer and used it like a dryer attachment. Fancy right? Click HERE to see what it looked like.

I really like the hand held aspect of this product. No longer will I have to sit under my big tabletop hair dryer, strain to hear the television, and shield my face from the heat. I can simply plug up my hand held blow dryer anywhere I want and direct the heat exactly where I want it to be. I also like the handy storage pouch that comes with the hair dryer attachment.

However, I will say beware of those flesh eating holes that are on the sides of the tube that attaches to the hair dryer. Once the dryer is on, the heat/stream coming from those holes are massive.  I throw a towel over the area that is exposed to the tube holes.

Also, the particular blow dryer I have is by Revlon and I don't have a problem with the attachment coming off of the dryer at all. However, I am curious to see if this attachment will fit my YellowBird Hair dryer by Conair. The tube end of this product, that attaches to the hair dryer, is elastic and is suppose to fit the majority of hand held blow dryers.

Another thing I want to mention is the fact that this bonnet has HOT SPOTS. Directly in the back of the hair dryer attachment, where the tube is located, is where you will find the most heat. In my opinion, it is not well distributed because the very front of the hair dryer attachment is only warm. (The sides of the bonnet gets good heat distribution) This may or may not be a deal breaker for you but I'm fine with it. I simply rotate the tube every few minutes. I wish I didn't have to do that but it's not so bad.

Last but certainly not least is leakage. This isn't a big deal either but it may be for some. I have noticed this before I bought this product so it may be inevitable. Hair product, water, hot oil, or anything that can leak will leak out of this bonnet during deep conditioning. It will probably be worse without a shower cap on and only using the hair dryer attachment heheheeee. However, by just throwing a towel around my neck stops leakage in its tracks.

Also, after styling, my hair texture is very soft and manageable. I haven't had a problem
with dryness but it may depend on the type of dryer/temperature used.

Things To Consider:

  • Price
  • Drying time depending on hair length
  • Uneven heat distribution
  • Whether or not dryer attachment will fit hair dryer
  • Leakage
Keep It OR Toss It: Keeping it while deep conditioning my hair and watching a movie!
