Hair Of The Day (HOTD)

10.28.2017

Hello hair friends, this is how my flat twist from my last "Wash Day" post turned out. This is how I have been wearing my hair all week (except for today it is in a puff again because I didn't re-twist last night). To maintain this style every day, I mist my hair with water, apply a little Shea Moisture Kids Curling Buttercream and coconut oil to each section, and flat twist it nightly. In the morning, I unravel and fluff and the twist out holds all day; and actually looks better throughout the day, due to the curls expanding.

Wash Day + New Product

10.21.2017

Hello again hair friends and family. It has literally been 3 weeks since I have washed my hair. Please don't judge me lol. But oh...not without penalty...because my...hair...itches...like...crazy!!!! So, I knew my scalp needed some TLC and so did my strands. I picked up a new conditioner from TJ Maxx (because I had a gift card) and to my surprise I think I found a good one for scalp irritation. It's called Avalon Organics Scalp Treatment Tea Tree Conditioner. I thought to myself and hoped that this conditioner would replace my Herbal Essence Naked Cleansing Conditioner. So here we go. Here is what my hair looked liked before I washed it.

My ponytail is looking like of dry right? Lol. Anyway, I washed my hair with the Avalon Organics Conditioner, and deep conditioned with my Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque. To loosen any dry flakiness on my scalp, I massaged it with my tangle teezer in circular motions (felt like a spa day for my scalp). On the very ends of my hair, I added some Aubrey Organics Glycerin Protein Balancing Conditioner (for added protein since I straightened my hair). Next, I piled my hair on the top of my head with an elastic and covered with a plastic cap.

After deep conditioning under my Gold N Hot conditioning cap for 30 mins, I rinsed my hair with warm water and drip dried my hair for 15 mins.

Lastly, I detangled my hair in diagonal sections with my new gadget from Remington. It is an electric detangler that I was afraid to try at first but it is so gentle and removes tangles fast (review coming soon). I detangled my hair in 25 mins which is unheard of on wash days for me but this tool just glided through my hair. I purchased it a while back but fear kept me from using it if I'm honest.

I even thought about selling it on eBay TODAY but I just trued it for fun. I WOULD HAVE MISSED OUT...YOU SHOULD TRY IT...SERIOUSLY...NOT SPONSORED EITHER...BUT IT SHOULD BE SPONSORED LOL. After detangling a section, I flat twisted with Shea Moisture Curling Buttercream and a bit a coconut oil. Here is what the flat twists looked like.

In the morning, I will untwist and unveil the finished hair style. I'll post it as a Hair of the Day Post (HOTD) or on my Instagram. Stay tuned...and thanks for stopping by to read my post. Enjoy your Saturday and help someone smile today.
